Saint Mary’s falls in Opener

(Bloomington, IL/Minnesota News Network) — The Saint Mary’s softball team lost its opening game in the N-C-A-A Division III World Series yesterday in Bloomington, Illinois. Linfield (OH) struck for five first inning runs and added three more in the second before winning 11-3 in five innings. The Cardinals dipped to 44-6 on the season and will play in a loser’s bracket game today at 1:30 P-M, taking on Randolph-Macon College (VA). The winner advanced to another game tomorrow, while the losing team will have its season end.
