NCAA Division 3 football finals from the St Johns bracket:

The Johnnies broke open a tight game by scoring two touchdowns in the third quarter to defeat UW/LaCrosse 24 to 13. Aaron Syverson found Marselio Mendez for a 33 yard TD pass and Dylan Wheeler caught a 22 yard TD pass to give St Johns a 17 to 7 lead, the St John’s defensive had a fourth and one stop with about 6 minutes to go and then sealed the game with a 60 yard Syverson TD pass to Corey Bohmert to advance to the third round of the NCAA Tournament. The Johnnies will play Susquehanna (Pa) next Saturday. The Nighthawks defeated Hobart 42 to 35. Bethel also advances to the third round with a 41 to 21 win over Lake Forest. The Royals will head to Wartburg next Saturday. Wartburg defeats UW/Platteville 19 to 14.

Boy’s Basketball finals from the Sleepy Eye Tip Off Tournament:

Tracy/Milroy/Balaton finishes the tourney 2 and 0 with a 77 to 76 win over St Mary’s, Sleepy Eye picks up their first win, with a 66 to 56 victory over Murray County Central. Landon Wendinger scored 31 points and had 28 rebounds to lead the Indians.

The Marshall Thanksgiving tourney results for the Girls:

Hopkins/Park finished in third place with a 4 to 2 win over Waconia. Marshall moves to 8and 0 on the season with a 7 to 4 win over Pine City.

The Marshall boy’s take third place with a 3 to 1 win over Morris/Benson Area.
