SCHMITZ SWORN IN AS NEW WARD 3 COUNCILOR

For the first time in 16 years, there will be a new person in the New Ulm Ward 3 City Council seat.  Tom Schmitz took the oath of office Tuesday officially replacing Les Schultz who announced in June he would not seek re-election.  Schmitz won the seat during November’s general election.  He had previously served as New Ulm’s Park and Rec Director until he retired in April 2023.  Council President Andrea Boettger and Ward 1 councilor Dave Christian also took the oath of office Tuesday after they were elected to their respective positions.
