Schools Opening Late Today

Minnewaska Area Schools Families,

With another morning of frigid temperatures, Minnewaska Area Schools will operate on a 2-hour delayed start tomorrow, Wednesday, February 19, to allow for safer travel and ensure buses are properly warmed up.

Important Details for Tomorrow:

• Buses will run two hours later than usual and may experience slight delays as they wait for students to come outside. If your child is not riding the bus, please notify Palmer Bus to assist with route efficiency.

• No AM Preschool. 

• Full-day preschool will follow the 2-hour late start schedule.

• Before School-Aged Child Care will open at 8:30 AM.

• Little Lakers Child Care will open on its regular schedule at 6:00 AM.

• All before-school activities are canceled.

We encourage all students to bundle up in warm coats, hats, gloves, and boots before heading out.

The good news is that this stretch of bitter cold hopefully won’t last much longer! The forecast looks more promising later this week, and spring is right around the corner. Hang in there—we’re almost through the worst of it!

As always, if you decide to keep your child home due to the weather, their absence will not be marked as unexcused.
