Girls Softball Class A
Unseeded Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley, the Section 6A champion, erupted for seven runs in the top of the seventh inning to upset of No. 2 Red Lake Falls in the Class A quarterfinals on Wednesday, June 5, at Caswell Park in North Mankato.
There was a forty-five minute rain delay in the bottom of the fifth inning with Red Lake Falls leading 4-2 ahead of Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley. When the sun came out Red Lake Falls added another three runs to go up 7-2. Then Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley in the top seventh batted around and added seven runs to go up 9-7 and upset the No. 2 Red Lake Falls.
Eighth-grade designated player Sadie Wright was 2 for 4 with three runs batted in, including a two-run single in the seventh.
MN State Softball Class A Semis on Thursday, June 6th has Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley taking on West Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on KKOK 95.7
