St James defeats Cedar Mountain 66 to 45 and Mankato West earns a section win over Marshall 72 to 59. Tomahawk results-Lester Prairie defeats Cathedral 71 to 46, Sleepy Eye wins a shoot out over BLHS 95 to 86, Wabasso wins big over St Mary’s 105 to 77. Other finals include St Clair gets a road win over Waterville/Elysian/Morristown 76 to 70, Renville County West edges BOLD 63 to 62 and Madelia was a 74 to 70 winner over Heron Lake/Okabena/Fulda,. Nicollet wins a section game over Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey 83 to 56 and Canby defeats Red Rock Central 71 to 64.
Girl’s Basketball:
Big South scores-New Ulm defeats Belle Plaine 88 to 53, St Peter hammers Worthington 84 to 34, Fairmont was an 88 to 57 winner over Windom and Jackson County Central takes it to Redwood Valley 71 to 34. Marshall wins a section game over Willmar 76 to 45 and St James wins a non-conference match up over Waterville/Elysian/Morristown 77 to 49. Tomahawk finals-Lester Prairie edges Cathedral 65 to 64, Sleepy Eye defeats BLHS 58 to 46, St Mary’s wins big at Wabasso 92 to 32 and Cedar Mountain was a 62 to 57 winner over Springfield. South Central scores-MVL holds off Sibley East 51 to 45 and St Clair defeats Lesueur/Henderson 70 to 29. BOLD picks up a conference win over Minnewaska Area 76 to 65. Valley finals-Martin County West defeats GHECML/Truman 62 to 61, Nicollet was a 62 to 52 winner over Cleveland and Alden/Conger/Glenville/Emmons was a 67 to 34 winner over Madelia. Valley finals-SW Minnesota Christian defeats Red Rock central 59 to 20 and Westbrook/Walnut Grove defeats Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey 51 to 49.
Wrestling:
New Ulm defeats LCWM Area 51 to 12, St Peter comes from behind to defeat Maple River/USC 44 to 26, Maple River then beats LCWM Area 43 to 28 and St Peter picks up a 41 to 31 win over LCWM Area. Martin County defeats Mankato West 48 to 20, then St James/Madelia defeats Martin County 47 to 30. West Central picks up three wins in Springfield, 43 to 20 over TMB/WWG, 72 to 5 over Springfield and 45 to 22 over Redwood Valley. The Cardinals defeat Springfield 48 to 27 and lose to TMB/WWG 45 to 25. Sibley East drops a pair, losing to St Clair/Loyola 41 to 28 and 54 to 20 to Kenyon/Wanamingo.
Boy’s Hockey:
Rochestor Lourdes shuts out New Ulm 2 to 0, Dodge County defeats Minnesota River 5 to 2, Fairmont was an 11 to 6 winner over Worthington and Luverne defeats Marshall 5 to 1.
Girl’s Hockey:
Minnesota River edges Litchfield/Dassel/Cokato 3 to 2, Fairmont was a 2 to 1 winner over Worthington, Windom defeats South Central 6 to 2 and Marshall was a 4 to 3 winner over Luverne.
Gymnastic:
New Ulm picks up a Big South win over Jackson County Central 129.4 to 126.35.
