Here is the Section scores from Thursday night.

Section Girl’s Basketball:

2A-St Mary’s advances to the semi’s with a 96 to 43 win over GHECML/Truman, the Knights will play Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey as the Wolverines sneak past Nicollet 54 to 55. BOLD moves on with a 74 to 27 win over Springfield. The Warriors will take on Cedar Mountain as the Cougars defeat Sleepy Eye 79 to 49. Semi-finals Monday night at Gustavus.

2AA-Glencoe/Silver Lake upsets St Clair 59 to 53 to advance and will play Maple River on Monday, the Eagles upset LCWM 57 to 56 in overtime. Janesville/Waldorf/Pemberton gets a big win over Tri City United 69 to 34 and will play Central, the Raiders defeats Belle Plaine 71 to 54. Semi-finals Monday at Minnesota State.

3AA-New London/Spicer heads to the final with a 59 to 45 win over Minnewaska Area. the Wildcats will play Fairmont as the Cardinals eliminate St James 74 to 47. The championship is Thursday at Southwest State.

Section Boy’s Basketball:

3A play in games-LQPV defeats Canby 74 to 69, Yellow Medicine East eliminates Lakeview 55 to 52, Red Rock Central was a 73 to 64 winner over Heron Lake/Okabena/Fulda and Tracy/Milroy/Balaton was a 72 to 60 winner over Adrian/Ellsworth.  Round 2 is Saturday in Montevideo and Worthington.

Section Hockey:

The 3A champion is Mankato West. the Scarlets defeat Luverne 2 to 1 in 3 overtimes and will head to the State Tournament next week.

MIAC Men’s Basketball Tournament:

St John’s advances to the final game with a 75 to 68 win over Concordia and Gustavus defeats Augsburg 84 to 68. The conference championship is Saturday night, 7pm at Gustavus.

MIAC Women’s basketball Tournament:

Bethel knocks Gustavus out with a 73 to 66 win and will take on top seed Concordia. the Cobbers defeat St Mary’s 71 to 62. The championship game is Saturday, 3pm in Moorhead.
