SCSU Picked preseason favorities in Volleyball

(Burnsville, MN/Minnesota news Network) — The St. Cloud State volleyball team is picked to repeat as the N-S-I-C Champions in a survey of league coaches, who were not allowed to vote for their own team. The Huskies received eight of the possible 16 first-place votes in taking the top spot in the poll. Concordia-St. Paul received four votes and was picked second, while Southwest Minnesota State was chosen third and picked up the remaining four first-place votes. Wayne State was tabbed fourth, followed by Northern State, Sioux Falls, Winona State and Minnesota-Duluth. Minnesota State-Mankato was selected ninth, followed by Augustana, Jamestown, MSU-Moorhead, Bemidji State, U-Mary, Minnesota-Crookston, and Minot State. St. Cloud State senior middle blocker Ella Thompson of Lakeville is the N-S-I-C Preseason Player of the Year. She helped lead the Huskies to a 29-3 record last year.
