Security Changes at Minnesota State Capitol

(Learfield News/St. Paul, MN) — New security measures begin today (Wed) at the Minnesota State Capitol.

The Department of Public Safety says fewer public entrances will be open and there will be an increased security presence in those areas.

Starting today, two entrances with a total of four doors located on the south side of the Capitol will be open during regular business hours.

Under the previous plan, there were three public entrances with a total of 14 doors open.

These entrances and all other access points will require a key card.

The State Patrol says it will continue to re-evaluate security at the Capitol complex.
