Empowering Communities, Celebrating Minnesota Locally

Severe Weather Awareness Week

Severe Weather Awareness Week is set to begin today (Monday) with the purpose of informing communities and residents on how to plan and prepare for common weather events in Minnesota that could be hazardous.

Each day this week focuses on a different weather hazard.

In addition, two statewide tornado drills are scheduled Thursday with the first drill intended for institutions and businesses to practice their tornado sheltering plans, and the second for second shift workers and families to practice their plans.

The first is at 1:45 p.m. and the second at 6:45 p.m.
