Empowering Communities, Celebrating Minnesota Locally

Severe Weather Awareness Week Concludes Today in Minnesota

Friday is dedicated to heat related emergencies.

Temperatures in Minnesota can and do reach more than 100 degrees in the summer months. Combined with high humidity, these temperatures can create dangerous conditions. To avoid heat related ailments, drink plenty of non-alcoholic fluids, avoid strenuous activity during the hottest time of day, wear light weight loose clothing, NEVER leave children or pets in vehicles, and check on elderly friends, family, and neighbors.

Severe Weather Awareness Week is promoted by the National Weather Service, Minnesota Department of Public Safety and local Emergency Management Agencies.
