Short-handed Wolves cruise to 139-106 win in Milwaukee
Julius Randle poured in 29 points as the Minnesota Timberwolves delivered a dominant 139-106 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night, never trailing at any point in the game.
Minnesota continued its strong run, winning for the sixth time in seven games despite being shorthanded. Leading scorer Anthony Edwards sat out with right foot maintenance, while top rebounder Rudy Gobert served a one-game suspension after accumulating his sixth flagrant foul point Sunday against San Antonio. Coach Chris Finch returned to the bench after missing that game due to illness.
The Timberwolves were red-hot from beyond the arc, knocking down a season-high 22 three-pointers on 43 attempts and shooting a season-best 59.8% overall. Milwaukee surrendered its highest point total of the season.
Even without key contributors, Minnesota seized control immediately, racing to a 76-45 halftime lead — the largest road halftime advantage in franchise history. The lead ballooned to as many as 41 points in the second half.
Bones Hyland added a season-high 23 points off the bench, while Naz Reid scored 19 and Jaden McDaniels chipped in 17. Gobert’s absence opened the door for rookie Joan Beringer, who logged career highs with 30 minutes, 13 points and five rebounds.
For Milwaukee, Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way with 25 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Myles Turner missed his first game of the season due to illness.
The Bucks were playing their lone home game during a seven-game stretch. After returning from a 2-2 road trip, they now head back out to face San Antonio and Atlanta.
