SIX HURT, ONE CRITICALLY IN SLEEPY EYE HOUSE FIRE

The Sleepy Eye Fire and Police Departments along with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office were called to a house fire this (Thursday) morning shortly after 7.  The house on the 700 block of 3rd Avenue Northeast was fully engulfed when crews arrived.  Two people were helping the occupants out of the home.  Officers learned there was one adult female was still inside the home.  The 29-year-old female and a 3-year-old male were taken to the Sleepy Eye Medical Center and then flown to the Twin Cities.  The female, whose name has not been released, is listed in critical condition.  The 3-year-old’s condition is listed as guarded.  Four other people, a 56-year-old female, 11-year-old male, and 8-year-old female  and 6-year-old male were taken to the Sleepy Eye Medical Center.  The fire is being investigated by the state fire marshal, Sleepy Eye fire and police departments.   More information will be released as the investigation continues.
