Skubal sinks Twins

(Detroit, MI/Minnesota News Network) — Tarik Skubal struck out 13 batters as the Tigers beat the Twins 3-0 on Sunday night in Detroit. Skubal allowed just one hit as Ty France got on back in the fifth inning but beyond that the offense sputtered. Skubal earned the win and is now 10-0 with a 1.74 E-R-A in his last 15 starts. Kerry Carpenter and Riley Greene each homered for Detroit as Chris Paddack suffered the loss in 4 2/3 innings of work. Minnesota lost two of three against the Tigers as they fall to 40-44 on the season. They’re in Miami starting on Tuesday for a three game set against the Marlins.
