Small Plane Fire in Paynesville
(Learfield News/Paynesville, MN) — Authorities say a small plane caught fire Sunday morning at the Paynesville Airport, but no one was injured.
The Paynesville Fire Department says crews were dispatched following a report of a plane on the ground with its engine ablaze.
Fire Chief Mike Stern says that by the time firefighters arrived, the plane’s owner had already extinguished the flames.
Firefighters confirmed the fire was out and moved the aircraft away from the hangar as a precaution.
Chief Stern says the owner had just taken the plane out of the hangar and started the engine when the fire broke out.
No buildings were damaged in the incident.
