Spicer Man Arrested After Meeker/Kandiyohi Co Pursuit

A Spicer man was arrested after a high-speed chase that began in Meeker County and ended in Kandiyohi County Friday night.

At just before 11pm, a Meeker County Sheriff’s Deputy was driving southbound on Highway 4 and saw a vehicle driving above the posted speed limit and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle accelerated away from the deputy and the pursuit went west into Kandiyohi County reaching speeds in excess of 100 MPH.

A Meeker County Deputy performed a successful PIT (Pursuit Intervention Technique) maneuver and the vehicle spun out and went into the ditch at the intersection of Kandiyohi County Road 8 and 67th Ave Southeast.

The driver,19-year-old Maxwell Matthew Robnik, was arrested without further incident and taken to Meeker County Jail.

Authorities say Robnik’s driving privileges were limited and he was not allowed to drive at the time of the incident.

Meeker County Deputies later learned that the vehicle Robnik had been driving was involved in another pursuit earlier in the day in Yellow Medicine County.
