ST. JAMES MAN SENTENCED IN APRIL STABBING

A St. James man has been sentenced to prison after being convicted of a stabbing in April.  23-year-old Antonio Trevino was convicted on a felony second-degree assault causing substantial bodily harm charge in Watonwan County District Court.  Court documents say that he received a 46-month sentence.  He will serve two-thirds in a Minnesota prison followed by the remaining one-third on supervised release.  The criminal complaint says that Trevino jumped a man from behind and stabbed him several times.  The victim had to be airlifted to a hospital.  Trevino  had helped the victim and another person move furniture into a basement bedroom prior to the stabbing.  Trevino also had a separate felony assault charge filed against him in late May.
