ST. PATRICK’S DWI ENFORCEMENT
Law enforcement agencies are cracking down on drunk driving for the St. Patrick’s Holiday. The extra enforcement runs through Monday and is coordinated by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety Office of Traffic Safety. Statistics show that through early March, 51 people have died on Minnesota roads with seven of those linked to alcohol use. St. Patrick’s Day is one of the heaviest drinking days on the calendar as is the weekend before. There were 438 DWI arrests over St. Patrick’s Day weekend last year. Authorities are reminding you to arrange a sober ride home before you go out.
