STALEMATE REMAINS BETWEEN DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS IN MINNESOTA HOUSE

It is day two of the Minnesota Legislative session today (Wednesday).  Republican members say they will be on the house floor ready to conduct business at noon while Democrats are still vowing to stay away.  There’s still no power sharing agreement in place between the two sides.  Democrats say they are unhappy that Republicans won’t recognize Brad Tabke as the winner in District 54A.  DFL House-Speaker designate Melissa Hortman says Democrats ware willing to stay away until the January 28th special election is held.  Republicans declared their own quorum Tuesday and elected Lisa Demuth as House Speaker, a move Democrats say is illegal.
