STATE PATROL INVESTIGATING FATAL CRASH IN YELLOW MEDICINE COUNTY

Two people from Echo were killed in a collision on Highway 274 in Wood Lake Township Yellow Medicine County Friday morning.  The state patrol was called shortly after 8 am to the collision between a GMC Acadia and a Chevy Monte Carlo.  Authorities say the Monte Carlo driven by 41-year-old Jean Hodgman lost control on the snow covered road and collided with the GMC driven by 44-year-old Stacy Timm of Montevideo.    Hodgman and her passenger 14-year-old Jonathan Ramos of Echo were killed in the crash.  Timm was taken to Granite Falls Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Neither Hodgman nor Timm wore seatbelts.  Wood Lake Dire Department and first responders, Granite Falls ambulance, Cottonwood ambulance and the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
