State Tennis and Softball begin today
(Minneapolis, MN/MInnesota News Network) — The 2025 Boy’s High School State Tennis Tournament gets underway today in Minneapolis. The two defending state title teams from 2024 are back in the field this year. Wayzata won last year’s Class 2-A trophy, while St. Paul Academy was the winner in Class A. The team quarterfinal round is today with the semifinals and championship matches set for tomorrow. (Mankato, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The 2025 Minnesota High School State Softball Tournament opens with quarterfinal round action today in Mankato. Two of the three 2024 state champions return to defend their crowns. That included Mankato East in Class 3-A and Randolph in Class 2-A. There will be a new champ in Class A in 2025. The quarterfinals are set for today with semifinal action slated for tomorrow with all games being played at Caswell Park in Mankato. The championship games will be played at Jane Sage Cowles Stadium on the University of Minnesota campus on Friday. Because of the heavy rain that has fallen in North Mankato, and more forecasted for today, the start times for the Minnesota State High School League’s Girls Softball State Tournament quarterfinal games scheduled for Tuesday, June 3 are delayed.
The quarterfinal round will begin on today at 5:00 p.m. and will use six fields at Caswell Park.
The new schedule is as follows:
5:00 p.m.
- Four Class AAAA Quarterfinals
- Two Class AAA Quarterfinals (No. 1. vs No. 8 and No. 4 vs No. 5)
7:00 p.m.
- Four Class AA Quarterfinals
- Two Class AAA Quarterfinals (No. 2 vs No. 7 and No. 3 vs. No. 6)
9:00 p.m.
- Four Class A Quarterfinals
