Suspect Arrested After Shooting in Meeker County
A Willmar man was arrested after he allegedly admitted to shooting a woman in Meeker County Thursday afternoon near Grove City.
The Sheriff’s Office says the victim called and told authorities she was bleeding and that she was hiding in the basement. The suspect also called and admitted to the shooting.
The victim told deputies that the suspect arrived at her home and was enticing her to come outside. The victim started to go outside at which point she saw the suspect had a gun so she retreated back into the home and the moment she closed the door, the suspect shot at her. The victim received superficial wounds and was treated at the scene.
The 21-year-old suspect, who was known to the victim, was arrested during a traffic stop in Grove City and is being held pending formal charges of attempted homicide and domestic assault.
