SUV Breaks Through Ice on Lake Minnetonka

On Saturday, a driver in their small SUV went through the ice after driving over a pressure ridge at Howards Point on Lake Minnetonka.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office reported the driver said they were “neck-deep” in water but was able to get out of the car and walk to shore.

They declined medical help, but are now responsible for getting the vehicle removed.

Authorities say thin ice warnings have now been placed around the area.
