TAKE A KID ICE FISHING THIS WEEKEND

The DNR says this weekend is Take A Kid Ice Fishing weekend.  Any Minnesota resident can go fishing for free if fishing with a child 15 years old or younger.  Also the DNR is waiving vehicle permit fees at all 73 state parks and recreation areas on Monday, which is Free Park Day.  The DNR does remind you to be cautious on the ice and to always check the ice yourself.  Don’t rely on reports.  Take A Kid Ice Fishing weekend is Saturday through Monday.  Find out more at mndnr.gov/take a kid ice fishing.  The fishing season for stream trout on lakes outside the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness starts Saturday too.
