Teen Dies in Sibley County Head-on Crash
(Learfield News/Dryden Township) — A 17-year-old girl from Henderson was killed in a head-on collision early Saturday morning in Sibley County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash occurred just after 1 a.m. on Highway 19.
The teen, identified as Mya Maus, was driving eastbound when her vehicle collided with another heading west, driven by a 17-year-old boy.
Two passengers in the boy’s vehicle — a 41-year-old man from Winthrop and a 50-year-old man from Glencoe sustained life-threatening injuries.
Investigators say none of the three were wearing seat belts, and alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash.
Mya Maus had been wearing her seat belt but died at the scene.
