TEEN KILLED IN CRASH NEAR LAKE CRYSTAL
The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s office was called to a crash at the intersection of County Road 11 and County Road 20 North of Lake Crystal Sunday that killed a 15-year-old from rural Hanska. Deputies were say the initial investigation says a GMC Sierra pickup driven by 40-year-old Nathan Jon Manderfield of Lake Crystal was traveling north on County Road 20 and a Chevy Malibu driven by 17-year-old Braydon Mitchell Kral of rural New Ulm was eastbound on County road 11 when they collided. Kral’s passenger 15-year-old Claire Jeske was killed in the crash. Kral was flown to a hospital with serious injuries. Neither Manderfield nor his passenger 32-year-old Todd Eich were transported for injuries. The crash is under investigation by the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office and the state patrol. Lake Crystal Fire Department, Madelia ambulance and North Memorial Air Care assisted at the scene.
