Tigers Beat Twins In 11 Innings
(Minnesota News Network- Minneapolis, MN) — The Detroit Tigers overcame an early deficit to beat the Minnesota Twins 4-3 in 11 innings at Target Field last night. The Twins led the game 3-0 through three innings before Detroit scored four unanswered runs to win the game. Gleyber Torres put Detroit on top with a sacrifice fly in the top of the 11th, while Riley Greene homered in the victory. Rafael Montero earned his first win in relief. Minnesota infielder Edouard Julien went deep in the losing effort, and Erasmo Ramirez was charged with the loss out of the pen. Minnesota is in fourth place in the Central at 57-64. The Tigers are in first place in the AL Central at 71-52. Twins manager Rocco Baldelli was ejected from the game in the bottom of the 11th inning for arguing about a foul tip strikeout against his team. Game two of the four-game series is tonight in downtown Minneapolis.
