Tommies lose at home for first time in 2 years

(St. Paul, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The nation’s longest home winning streak in college basketball came to an end last night when North Dakota upset St. Thomas in St. Paul 81-80. The Tommies had won 28 straight home games prior to last night’s setback. Caledonia native Eli King stole an inbounds pass and made a shot with under ten-seconds to play to push U-N-D to the victory. King finished with 14 points, while Garrett Anderson had 20 for the Fighting Hawks, who improved to 13-12 overall and 7-2 in the Summit League. The loss was the first at home for the Tommies since North Dakota beat them almost two years ago to the day. The Fighting Hawks beat St. Thomas on January 27th, 2024. St. Thomas was led by sophomore guard Nolan Minessale, who scored 24 points. The Tommies fell to 17-6 overall and 6-2 in the Summit League. The Tommies welcome Kansas City on Sunday for a 1 P-M game at the Lee & Penny Anderson Arena.
