TRAIN DERAILS IN MEEKER COUNTY

Authorities in Meeker County are on the scene of a train derailment just west of Watkins.  The sheriff’s Office says the Canadian Pacific Kansas City train derailed around 7:20 pm Thursday night and it was determined the cargo in some of cars include hazardous materials.  Deputies say the initial assessment found no hazardous materials leaked and no injuries were reported.  Crews from the railway and EMS personnel are still at the site cleaning up.  The cause of the derailment is under investigation.
