TRF Area Residents Reminded That Garbage and Bird Food May Attract Bears
Officials with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources have been handling bear complaints in the Thief River Falls area.
Conservation Officer Sarah Jahn says time was spent last week handling nuisance-bear complaints and reminds people that things like garbage and bird food will attract bears. She says “people are reminded to remove trash and bird feeders to help with bears”.
Jeremy Woinarowicz says he also responded to a nuisance-bear complaint last week and conducted follow-up investigations on open big-game cases. He reports that enforcement action for the week included taking northern pike in a closed season and a non-resident purchasing a license restricted to residents.
