Twins At Kansas City
(Minnesota News Network- Kansas City, MO) — Minnesota Twins ace Pablo Lopez is scheduled to make return to the Major League mound tonight when Kansas City entertains Minnesota to open a three-game series. Lopez has not pitched for the Twins since he suffered an injury on June 3rd. He has made a few rehab starts at Triple-A St. Paul. Lopez was having an all-star caliber year up to the point he was injured. The right-hander is 5-3 with a 2.82 earned run average. He will face Kansas City veteran right-hander Michael Wacha (WAH-kuh), who is 8-11 this season with a 3.53 E-R-A. Minnesota enters tonight’s tilt with a 62-78 record, having just been swept in a four-game series by the woeful Chicago White Sox. The Royals are 71-69 and two-games out of the final A-L Wild Card spot. First pitch tonight is 6:40 P-M.
