Twins beat Orioles

(Minneapolis, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The Minnesota Twins beat the Baltimore Orioles 9-1 in game one of their three-game series at Target Field last night. Byron Buxton went 2-for-4 with a home run and four R-B-I, while Carlos Correa drove in three runs of his own, including on a homer. Twins starting and winning pitcher Pablo Lopez earned the victory, allowing a run in five innings while striking out 11. Cade Povich got the loss after surrendering five runs in six innings of work. Ryan Mountcastle had the lone R-B-I for Baltimore. Minnesota has won three consecutive games and sits at 16-20, while the Orioles drop to 13-21 with loss number three in a row. Game two of the series is tonight in Minneapolis starting at 6:40 P-M.
