Twins blow 6 run lead, lose in extras

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins blew a 7-1 lead and lost at home to the Houston Astros in ten innings yesterday 9-7. Astros slugger Yordan Alverarz hit a game-tying two -run homer off of Twins reliever Griffin Jax in the top of the ninth inning before Houston went ahead with a pair runs in the top of the tenth inning. Josh Hader earned the win in relief as Houston improved to 4-5 on the season. Louie Varland was charged with the loss out of the bullpen. Matt Wallner had four hits, while Trevor Larnach drove home three runs in the setback for Minnesota. The 3-6 Twins dropped two of three in the series and visit the Kansas City Royals for a game tonight at 6:40 P-M.
