Twins Defeat Yankees

The Minnesota Twins avoided being swept by the New York Yankees by earning a 4-1 win from the Bronx. The game was tied at one before Minnesota plated three runs in the top of the sixth. Kody Clemens had a go-ahead, two-run double during the frame to put the Twins up for good. Minnesota all-star Joe Ryan earned his 12th win after striking out seven and holding New York to one run on four hits in six-and-two-thirds innings. Twins manager Rocco Baldelli says Ryan was working everything well.

Minnesota is in fourth place in the AL Central at 57-63. Bailey Ober starts for the Twins against Detroit tonight at Target Field. Coverage begins at 6pm on KNUJ and SAM 107.3.
