Twins Excited For Spring Training
(Minneapolis, MN/ Minnesota News Network) — The Minnesota Twins are inching closer to spring training and infielder Royce Lewis is excited. He says the annual energy and vibe that comes with opening spring training is something that he feeds off of. Lewis says he’s been impressed with new manager Derek Shelton, who had an early conversation with Lewis about how he can improve and what he means to the team. Lewis says the franchise seems to have stabilized now after an unsteady direction since the 2023 playoff series win and he has appreciated being involved in input and guidance. Pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report to spring training on February 12th in Fort Myers with position players mandated to come in a few days later. The Twins have an exhibition against the University of Minnesota on Friday, February 20th and open Grapefruit League play against Boston on Saturday, February 21st. The regular season begins at Baltimore on March 26th. The Minnesota home opener comes against Tampa Bay on April 3rd at Target Field.
