Twins Fall At Home To Texas

(Minnesota News Network- Minneapolis, MN) — The Texas Rangers rattled off 17 hits during a 16-4 rout of the Minnesota Twins at Target Field last night. The 32-35 Rangers broke the game open with a five-run fifth inning. Kyle Higashioka drove in five runs in the victory, while Evan Carter and Wyatt Langford both went deep. Former Twin right-hander Tyler Mahle earned his sixth win after allowing four runs on ten hits in five-and-two-thirds innings. The Rangers are on a three-game winning streak. Matt Wallner homered in the losing effort, and Simeon Woods Richardson was charged with his third loss after getting tagged for six earned runs and one unearned run in four-and-two-thirds innings. The second-place Twins have dropped four of five and sit at 35-31, trailing Detroit by eight-games in the A-L Central. Game two of the three-game series against Texas is tonight at 6:40 P-M on Bigfoot 105.5.
