Twins Fall To Detroit

The Detroit Tigers rallied past the Minnesota Twins at Target Field last night, 7-6. Minnesota scored three runs in the fifth to take a 4-1 lead, but the Tigers responded with four runs in the sixth to take the lead. In the ninth, the Twins scored one run and had the tying run at third base with two outs, but they couldn’t complete the comeback.  Walks and errors did in the Twins, according to Manager Rocco Baldelli.

Byron Buxton hit a homer for the Twins and had two R-B-I. Starter David Festa pitched four-and-two-thirds (4 2/3) innings, giving up three hits and one unearned run. Reliever Jorge Alcala takes the loss, facing four batters and giving up four earned runs. The Twins have lost five out of six and are off to a 4-10 start on the season. Game two of this three-game series with Detroit is today at 1:10pm at Target Field. Coverage begins at 12:30pm on KNUJ and SAM 107.3.
