Twins Fall to the Rays

The Minnesota Twins are off tonight and will return to action with a three-game interleague series against the Chicago Cubs tomorrow night at Target Field. Minnesota took two of three from the Tampa Bay Rays over the weekend, losing yesterday’s series finale 7-5 in ten innings in Minneapolis. The 43-47 Twins are in second-place in the American League Central Division, but trail first-place Detroit by 13-and-a-half-games. Minnesota is five-games out of an A-L Wild Card spot. The visiting Cubs are 54-36 on the season and leading the N-L Central Division by four-games over the Milwaukee Brewers. Chicago blanked the rival Cardinals yesterday 11-0 and are off today. Tomorrow’s game starts at 6:40 P-M in downtown Minneapolis.

Center fielder Byron Buxton will represent the Minnesota Twins at the 2025 All-Star Game next week in suburban Atlanta. The Georgia native will be playing in his second Midsummer Classic on July 15th in the Braves ballpark. Buxton says his All-Star selection means a lot and to do it back home with a Twins uniform on is a blessing.
