Twins lose 4th straight, Baldelli’s option picked up

(Minneapolis, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The Seattle Mariners scored six runs in the top of the third inning and went on to beat the Twins in Minneapolis last night 11-2. Julio Rodriguez had a home run and four R-B-I in the victory, while Luke Raley, Cal Raleigh, and Dominic Canzone also went deep for the M’s. Bryan Woo earned his seventh win after allowing two runs on six hits in six innings. The 40-37 Mariners have won three of four. The 3-41 Twins have lost four straight and ten of their past 11. In fact, Minnesota is 3-14 in their past 17 games. Twins Trevor Larnach and Carlos Correa each homered in the losing effort, while Bailey Ober was charged with his fifth loss after surrendering seven runs on seven hits in seven innings. Game two of the four-game series is tonight at Target Field at 6:40 P-M.

The Minnesota Twins aren’t planning to move on from Rocco Baldelli anytime soon. Dan Hayes of “The Athletic” is reporting that the Twins manager had his 2026 option picked up by the club at some point between late April and now. Baldelli has led Minnesota to three A-L Central titles since taking over in 2019. The team has finished with a winning record in four of his six complete seasons.
