Twins Lose At Home To Pirates

(Minnesota News Network- Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins gave up a run in the top of the ninth during a 2-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates at Target Field yesterday afternoon. Minnesota closer Jhoan Duran was charged with the loss after allowing a R-B-I ground-out to Spencer Horwitz during the frame. The play was nearly an inning-ending double play, but second baseman Brooks Lee had troubled getting the ball out of his glove. Byron Buxton drove in Minnesota’s only run in the losing effort. The Twins took two of three in the series and head into the All-Star break as the second place team in the A-L Central at 47-49.
