Twins Lose At Home To Red Sox

(Minnesota News Network- Minneapolis, MN) — The Boston Red Sox took down the Minnesota Twins 8-5 last night at Target Field. Boston right-hander Lucas Giolito was credited with the victory after striking out five over six innings of work. Trevor Story and Jarren Duran each went deep for Boston, which has won three of its last four games and improved to 58-51. Twins rookie right-hander Pierson Ohl suffered the loss after allowing four runs on five hits and a walk in his first career Major League start. He had been called up from Triple-A St. Paul earlier in the day. The biggest bright spot of the night for Minnesota was infielder Brooks Lee hitting a pair of homers and driving in all five runs, going 3-for-4 on the day. Lee homered from each side of the plate. He was not even in the starting lineup, but entered the game to replace shortstop Carlos Correa, who was feeling ill. Minnesota has dropped three of its last four and sits at 51-56 on the year. The rubber match of the three-game series begins today at 12:10 P-M in downtown Minneapolis.
