Twins lose in Extras
(Cleveland, OH/Minnesota News Network) — The Cleveland Guardians captured their series finale against the Minnesota Twins after walking off with a 4-3 victory in 10 innings from Cleveland. It was the second straight victory for Cleveland in its final at-bat against Minnesota. Angel Martinez drove in the game-winning run with an R-B-I single in the bottom of the 10th. Cleveland has now won three straight games to improve to 18-13, just a game-and-a-half behind first-place Detroit in the A-L Central. Minnesota reliever Justin Topa was tagged with the loss after surrendering two runs, one of them earned, on two hits and a walk in the tenth. Minnesota has now dropped three in a row and has fallen seven-games behind the Tigers. The 13-19 Twins open a three-game weekend series at Boston tonight at 6:10 P-M. The Red Sox are 17-16 on the year.
