Twins Lose Series Opener In New York
(Minnesota News Network- New York, NY) — The New York Yankees launched four home runs during a 6-2 win over the Minnesota Twins last night in the Big Apple. Cody Bellinger, Giancarlo Stanton, Ben Rice, and Jazz Chisholm Jr. all went deep in the victory, while Will Warren earned his seventh win after allowing two runs on three hits over six-and-two-thirds innings. New York has won two of three to improve to 63-56. Byron Buxton and Trevor Larnach both homered in the losing effort for the Twins, and Zebby Matthews was charged with his fourth loss after surrendering three runs on six hits in five-and-two-thirds frames. Buxton was playing in his first game since July 26th. He came off the Injured List yesterday after missing 13 games with left ribcage inflammation. The Twins sent Carson McCusker back to Triple-A St. Paul to make room for Buxton. The Twins are in fourth place in the A-L Central at 56-62. The same two teams play tonight at Yankee Stadium at 6:05 P-M.
