Twins Pound Indians

The Minnesota Twins blasted the Guardians 11-1 to open their four-game A-L Central series last night in Cleveland. Minnesota right-hander Bailey Ober earned the victory after holding the Guardians to one run over seven-and-two-thirds innings. Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers led the way at the plate after going 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and three R-B-I. Edouard Julien hit a solo homer on the first pitch of the game for the Twins. Manager Rocco Baldelli was impressed with the offense.

Minnesota has now won four consecutive games and six of the past seven to improve to 13-16. Gavin Williams was tagged with the loss after allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks. Cleveland has now dropped three straight contests and sits at 15-13. Game two of the series is tonight at 5:10 P-M.
