Twins Shut Out In Tampa

Tampa Bay right-hander Drew Rasmussen was dominant on the mound as the Rays blanked the Minnesota Twins 5-0 at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa yesterday. Rasmussen earned his fourth win after striking out five and holding Minnesota to one hit in six scoreless innings. Brandon Lowe and Junior Caminero both went deep in the victory for Tampa Bay, which has won seven of its last eight games. Twins starting pitcher Pablo Lopez was charged with his third loss of the season after surrendering four runs on seven hits in five innings. Twins manager Rocco Baldelli says starting pitcher Pablo Lopez had a rough fourth inning.

The 30-25 Twins have dropped three of four and sit six-games behind Detroit in the A-L Central. Minnesota is off tonight before opening a series at Seattle tomorrow night.
