Twins Snap Losing Skid
(Minnesota News Network- Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins snapped a five-game losing streak with a 2-0 win over the Seattle Mariners at Target Field last night. Willi Castro broke a scoreless tie with an R-B-I single in the bottom of the sixth, and Kody Clemens went deep in the seventh to give Minnesota an insurance tally. Starting and winning pitcher Joe Ryan earned his eighth victory after striking out eight and allowing three hits with no walks in six scoreless innings. Minnesota is tied for third place in the A-L Central at 38-42. George Kirby was charged with his fourth loss after giving up just one run on three hits in six innings. The M’s had their three-game winning streak snapped and sit at 41-38. The Twins will go for the series split with a matinee today in Minneapolis at 12:10 P-M.
