Twins sneak one out over Washington

(Washington, DC) — The Minnesota Twins took the rubber-match of their three-game series against the Washington Nationals 3-2 at Nationals Park. Max Kepler and Carlos Correa each hit solo home runs to give Minnesota a 2-0 lead through six. After Washington scored in the bottom of the seventh, Ryan Jeffers drove in an insurance run in the ninth. Steven Okert earned his first win in relief, while Jhoan Duran picked up his fourth save. The Twins have won their last two games. Joey Meneses went yard in the losing effort, and Jake Irvin was charged with his fifth loss after surrendering two runs on five hits in six-and-a-third innings. The Nats have dropped seven of eight.
