Twins Split Twin Bill Yesterday

(Minnesota News Network- Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Guardians both picked up a win during a doubleheader at Target Field yesterday. Minnesota’s Kody Clemens had a walk-off double for the Twins in a 6-5 win in game one. Cleveland scored three runs in the top of the ninth to tie the game before Clemens knocked in the game-winner. Gavin Williams tossed a gem in the second game, leading Cleveland to a 5-1 victory. Williams picked up his fourth win after allowing just two hits over six frames of one-run ball. Cleveland’s Carlos Santana homered in the victory, while Twins right-hander Chris Paddack was charged with the loss in the nightcap. The Twins are in second place in the A-L Central at 27-22, while the Guardians are just a half-game back at 26-22. The Twins are off tonight and will host the Kansas City Royals tomorrow night to open a three-game weekend series.
