Twins Sweep Orioles
The Minnesota Twins swept their doubleheader against the Orioles in Baltimore yesterday, getting big go-ahead homers from unlikely heroes in each contest. Minnesota took the first game of the day 6-3 thanks in part to a Christian Vazquez go-ahead three-run homer in the fourth inning. Minnesota infielder Brooks Lee also went deep in the game one victory. Orioles starter Dean Kremer was charged with the loss after allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks. The Twins then rallied for an 8-6 victory after Kody Clemens blasted a three-run shot in the top of the eighth to push Minnesota to the lead. Minnesota has now won 10 in a row, the longest winning streak in Major League Baseball this season. Clemens says they’ve played tough baseball during this ten-game winning streak
The Twins are 23-20 and in fourth-place in the A-L Central. Baltimore has dropped three of its last four and sits at 15-26 on the year, in last place in the A-L East. The Twins go for the three-game sweep today at 11:35 A-M on SAM 107.3 and at 12:30pm on KNUJ.
