Twins swept in Houston, Lewis goes back to IL

(Houston, TX/Minnesota News Network) — The Houston Astros walked off the Minnesota Twins for a second straight day and completed a three-game weekend sweep with a 2-1 victory in a 10-inning yesterday in Texas. The Twins led the game 1-0 heading into the ninth inning, but Minnesota closer Jhoan Duran allowed the game-tying run on a Victor Caratini sacrifice fly, sending the game to extra innings. Mauricio Dubon hit a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning to produce the Houston win. Astros reliever Josh Hader notched his fourth win of the season as Houston improved to 41-30. Brooks Lee was 3-for-4 with a solo homer for Minnesota in the setback. Cole Sands was tagged with the loss as the Twins dropped to 36-35. Minnesota is off tonight and will open a three-game interleague series at Cincinnati tomorrow night.

(Houston, TX/Minnesota News Network) — Twins infielder Royce Lewis is on the shelf once again. The Twins injury-prone former first-overall pick was placed on the ten-day injured list over the weekend. Lewis strained his hamstring while running the bases on Friday. He’s hitting just .202 with two home runs and nine R-B-I in 30 games this season. DaShawn Keirsey Jr. was called up from St. Paul to replace Lewis on the active roster.
